At closing, Brett Hankison attorneys ask: Was Breonna Taylor still alive when he fired?

During closings, Malarcik said Walker initially lied about who fired the shot when asked by police in body camera footage captured that night. In that clip, which jurors saw earlier in the trial, Walker told officers Taylor had been the one to fire the handgun.

Soon after, Walker took responsibility for the gunshot.

But Malarcik brings up this clip in his closing statements, calling Walker a “criminal.”

Walker initially was charged with attempted murder and assault in the March 13 incident but had those charges dropped.

“Do you believe Kenneth Walker when he said he didn't know it was the police (knocking on the door)?” Malarcik said. “The same man who said Breonna Taylor fired the gun and not himself?”
